"The most beautiful car ever made." This quote may be up for debate but certainly Preston Tucker was way ahead of his time when he began designing his dream car. The original plans boasted a rear engine, fuel injection, electronic ignition, disc brakes and seat belts... something never before imagined in an automobile. The public was so impressed by the design and safety features that over 300,000 people placed orders. Sadly, only 51 cars were made. The beauty of this car has made it a masterpiece of American automobile history and the story Preston Tucker's determination and persistence to have the car made is a true American drama.
